About Our Chapter

A Message From Our Chapter President

Hi y'all - welcome to the website of the Georgia Beta chapter of Pi Beta Phi at Emory University! We are the second and one of only two Pi Beta Phi chapters in all of Georgia, established by our wonderful founders at Emory University in 2016. Emory Pi Phi's come from all over the world, and represent a diverse group of majors from across Emory University. Our women are active across the campus community in campus organizations, service and religious groups, as well as holding leadership and staff positions at the university. Our alumni enter into various career fields including healthcare, business, education, government, and philanthropy. We have sisters at graduate, law, and medical schools all across the world.

College is often the place that helps a young woman find herself and her “people”. When starting at Emory I was worried about finding sincere, lifelong friends that would help me develop into a better person. I am lucky to say that I have found that and more at Pi Phi. I truly believe this is an organization that sets you up for success, and gives you the tools to change the world for the better. I have had the privilege of meeting Pi Phi’s from all over the country due to our vast alumni network, with over 225,000 current living alumni in the U.S. and Canada. These women have inspired me and make me proud to say that I am a Pi Phi.

An important aspect of our sisterhood is our Philanthropy, Read > Lead > Achieve. Philanthropic service to others is one of Pi Phi’s core values, and our chapter lives this value through afterschool tutoring, fundraising for books through events such as Pie a Pi Phi, book drives, and much more. Pi Phi’s goal for its service is to make sure that no child slips through the cracks in learning how to read, with our chapter in particular helping tutor those kids who fell behind during online classes.

As the first fraternity for women, Pi Beta Phi was created before the word “sorority” even existed. Our founders recognized the power and change that a society of educated women working towards serving the world could create. For more than 150 years, Pi Phi has given women the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than themselves, bringing together amazing women from all backgrounds. I am honored to be a part of the legacy of Pi Beta Phi at Emory, and am grateful for the opportunity I have been afforded to serve the women of this chapter.
